Swiss Snack Bats!

 

Don’t have time to bake? Spice up any lunch box with this special little Halloween treat. Here’s a Do-It-Yourself tip for a quick and easy way to take an everyday snack and give it some confectionery goodness that will have everyone cheering! Don’t have time to make the bats? Purchase them today on my Etsy Store!

 

 

1) Pick up a box of Swiss Cake Rolls from the grocery store

2) Pick up supplies to make cut out bats from your local craft supply store (Michael’s, Jo-Ann Fabrics OR go online to Country Kitchen Sweetart)

Bat supplies: 1 small bat cookie cutter, purple icing color, 1 package of ready to use fondant, 1 set of candy eyes (you can also make these from royal icing)

3) Color fondant purple and roll out a small amount to a thickness of 1/8″. Then use the cookie cutter to stamp them out and finally, attach eyes with a small paint brush and water or clear vanilla extract.

4) Attach bats to an open package of Swiss Cake Rolls and place in a air tight container that is lunch box ready!

*You can make the bats ahead of time and wait to place them on the cake until packing a lunch.
